London Mojito

Originally a whorehouse, now an accomplished cocktail bar, this bar in London's Aldwych combines good service and atmosphere with a pricey but competent mojito. The results are positive.

Christopher's may strictly be a martini bar, but they also boast a range of mojitos which range from the competent (havana club 7yr, £8) to the ridiculous (using Havana club 15yo gold rum, and costing £41). I have yet to sample the latter, but can only wonder if it's worth the money. If you feel like splashing out you're better to hit the mid-ground and plonk for either the Appleton Estate 12yr (£10.50) or Santa Teresa 1996 (£12) as the basis for your drink. However, having tried both (purely in the interests of balanced reporting, dear reader) I can tell you that, good though these more-expensive versions are, the basic model actually comes pretty damn close.

Nu-jazz in the background, and a quality dining experience top this place off, providing a great place to meet and eat, without breaking the bank. Well, unless you want to try a few £41 mojitos?
